This is a starting template. Have a lawyer review it against your actual rental agreement before relying on it.

These terms apply to every self drive rental booked with Self Drive Delhi ("Self Drive Delhi", "we"). By booking, you agree to them and to the rental agreement signed at handover.

1. Eligibility

Drivers must be at least 21 years old and hold a valid Indian driving licence for light motor vehicles for at least 1 year, or a foreign licence with a valid International Driving Permit.
Only drivers whose documents we have verified may drive the car.

2. Booking, payment and deposit

A booking is confirmed once the booking amount is paid and documents are verified.
A refundable security deposit of ₹5,000–₹15,000 (depending on the car) is collected before handover and refunded after the car is returned and checked, less any amounts due under these terms.

3. Kilometres, fuel and late return

Each booking includes 300 km per day; extra kilometres are charged at the rate shown for the car.
Fuel policy is same-to-same. Any shortfall is charged at the prevailing fuel price plus a refuelling fee.
Late returns: a grace period of 30 minutes, then hourly charges.

4. Use of the car

No driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, racing, towing, off-road use beyond normal unpaved roads, carrying goods for hire, or sub-letting.
The renter is responsible for tolls, parking, state entry taxes and traffic challans incurred during the rental period.
Smoking inside the car is not permitted; a cleaning fee may apply.

5. Damage, accidents and theft

Cars carry commercial insurance. For accidental damage, the renter pays up to the damage liability amount stated in the booking, plus any insurance deductible and loss of rental days as stated in the rental agreement.
The cap does not apply where damage results from drink-driving, rash driving, use by an unverified driver or breach of these terms.
Report any accident or theft to us immediately and to the police where required.

6. Cancellation

We offer free cancellation up to 24 hours before pickup. Later cancellations or no-shows may forfeit part or all of the booking amount as stated in your confirmation.

7. Breakdowns

Mechanical breakdowns not caused by misuse are our responsibility. We will arrange assistance and, where possible, a replacement car.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and courts in New Delhi have jurisdiction.
